There are plenty of websites that claim to pay you to write for them. One of these websites is eHow. However, eHow doesn’t really pay to write for them exactly. Instead, they are like a revenue sharing site i.e. if they make money from your article, they will give you part of the money. I don’t know the exact percentage they will give to you from the revenue but I do know there are a lot of people who make money from them.
I first chose eHow because it is easy to write articles over there. They are not really strict. They just want you to follow their guidelines. And most of their guidelines are what you should already be doing if you know how to produce quality content. The eHow editors want the site to have high quality content, of course.
Any article you publish on ehow goes live as soon as you hit the publish button. If the article you publish is low quality, the editors would delete it later. I once heard that the editors will delete articles that don’t generate any revenue after a certain period of time. I assume this is because they believe that the article is low quality.
As of today, I have made $144.82 from ehow. This is from 2 months of my articles being live on the site. I have published 11 articles on ehow so far. Some articles have made money, while some haven’t made a penny yet. I am thinking the editors might soon remove those articles though I hope they don’t.
If you are thinking about you can write on ehow, let me tell you that you can write about almost any topic. Although, you are required to write about how to do things. You know how to do something, so write about it. Since you have the practical knowledge already, you just have transfer the knowledge into writing, which I guess would not take you a lot of time. It is also good to insert a picture into your article if appropriate.
Looking at the homepage of ehow, I guess that they put articles that are demand. That is during the summer period, ehow would like to put articles that are related to summer on their homepages such as gardening, tanning, beach and similar. I guess that writing this type of articles would make you more money because they are in demand at that time of year.
I have read about people that make about $200 – $500 per month with ehow. The author of the book, how to write for ehow, makes more than $1000 per month from ehow but he has more than 200 articles on the site. If you want to make money, you should be ready to write a lot of articles. My 11 articles have pretty much gotten me nowhere, but it’s still early, so I continue to hold out hope for more revenue.

Wow! I’ve been a member there for a while. But I’ve been hesitant about submitting anything because I didn’t think I would make much. I will definitely write something now.
Thanks!

I joined eHow some time ago but like a lot of things it went straight to the back of my mind and I didn’t think about it again until I read your article.
I just added my first eHow article. Hopefully they will accept it.
Thanks I will try to remember to write a couple of how to’s a week.

95% of your article submissions should be done automatically with software that will generate as many as you need from content that you find elsewhere, and submits it for you. In the odd occasion that you want to write something yourself, I’ve written a step by step guide check it out if you like.
Good luck guys,
Mark
